Financial Services Veterans Launch Fairlight Advisors to Focus on Serving Philanthropic Investors

Fairlight Advisors offers investment and risk solutions honed by the founders’ experience working at some of the most respected financial institutions in the world,

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — October 1, 2019 — Katharine Earhart and Maya Tussing, both 20+ year veterans of the financial services industry, team up to launch Fairlight Advisors, an RIA focused on the investment needs of philanthropic institutions and individuals. Earhart and Tussing previously led the West Coast presence of Rochester, NY-based Alesco Advisors before launching Fairlight Advisors.

Fairlight Advisors offers investment and risk solutions honed by the founders’ experience working at some of the most respected financial institutions in the world, including BlackRock, Barclays Global Investors, Charles Schwab, Visa, and GE Capital.

Earhart, a Bay Area native, and Tussing, a long time Bay Area resident, are uniquely positioned to combine their experience with strong working knowledge of the region’s nonprofit ecosystem in order to bring targeted and effective solutions to bear on today’s nonprofit needs. Fairlight Advisors will continue the pair’s focused work with both teams and individuals to manage risk and optimize investments, so their clients’ time is free to continue their primary philanthropic mission.

Fairlight’s solutions range from short-term consulting engagements to ongoing investment management, depending on client requirements.

“Economic uncertainty and the recent tax law changes make it a critical time for philanthropic leaders to reassess their financial strategy”, says Tussing. “We founded Fairlight to address these challenges and we take great satisfaction that we can potentially deliver solutions for nonprofits based on programs used by some of the most respected financial services companies.”

Earhart will lead the firm’s focus on philanthropically minded individuals who want to better understand the organizations they support and how their donations can have an impact. “With the increased use of donor-advised funds and other philanthropic strategies, we see a growing need for investment advisors to provide guidance and support in the process” states Earhart.

Fairlight Advisors will provide widely diversified and cost-effective risk management and investment strategies, underpinned by deep industry experience and in-depth local knowledge.
